Abstract
U ovom završnom radu opisana je entalpija. Entalpija je važna termodinamička funkcija koja je jednaka toplinskoj energiji koja je prinešena sustavu. U sustavima koji slobodno mijenjaju svoj volumen, promjena unutarnje energije nije jednaka energiji koja se prinese sustavu kao toplina jer se dio toplinske energije troši na ekspanzijski rad. Entalpija je funkcija stanja jer je definirana promjenom unutrarnje energije, tlakom i volumenom koje su također funkcije stanja. Promjena entalpije je mjerljiva veličina koja se može odrediti eksperimentalno ili računski. Eksperimentalno se određuje kalorimetrijom, a ako eksperimentalno nije moguće odrediti entalpiju koristi se Hessov zakon. Pojam toplinski kapacitet pomaže pri povezivanju promjene entalpije sa temperaturom.
Abstract (english)
This final paper describes the enthalpy. Enthalpy is an important thermodynamic function that is equal to the thermal energy suplied to the system. In systems which freely change their volume, the change in internal energy is not equal to the energy suplied to the system as heat since one part of that energy is used for expansion work. The enthalpy is a state function because it is defined with change in internal energy, pressure and volume, which are also state functions. Change of enthalpy is a measurable quantity that can be determined experimentally or computationally. It is determined experimentally by using calorimetry, and if it is not experimentally possible to determine the enthalpy, Hess law is used. The term heat capacity is used to associate enthalpy change with temperature.
